CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The
Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament champion Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team earned the No. 15 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament and will face No. 2 seed and Big Ten Tournament champion Purdue on Friday, March 20.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. ET on TruTV at the Enterprise Center in Saint Louis. The winner will advance to the Round of 32 and play the winner of No. 7 Miami (FL) and No. 10 Missouri, which tips off a 10:10 p.m. ET.
The Royals defeated Central Arkansas in the ASUN Conference Tournament, 98-93, to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA DI Championship in their first year eligible after completing the reclassification process and becoming a full NCAA DI member on July 1, 2025. Queens finished third in the ASUN during the regular season after posting a 13-5 league record and a 21-13 overall record. It was the Royals' second straight 20-win season at the DI level.
The Boilermakers, ranked 13
th nationally, are making their 11
th straight NCAA Tournament appearance after defeating No. 3 Michigan, 80-72, in the Big Ten Tournament Championship game. They are receiving a top four seed in the Big Dance for the ninth consecutive year after posting a 27-8 overall record.
