CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore
Jay'Den Turner poured in a career-high 20 points, shooting 8-for-13 from the field, as the No. 20/25 Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team used a second half outburst to seal a 95-70 win over Mars Hill University inside Curry Arena.
Turner scored 12 of his game-high 20 points in the first half as the Royals (11-4, 10-3 SAC) committed just one turnover in the game's opening 20 minutes of play and held a 42-36 edge at intermission.
The second half of action opened with a 9-0 run from Queens, capped of by an and-one finish from redshirt-freshman
AJ McKee that put the Royals ahead 51-36. McKee turned in the best game of his young Queens career, registering career-highs of 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes.

Kenny Dye turned into a fastbreak dunk for junior
Quan McCluney to push the Royals lead to 20 points, 58-38, with just over 14 minutes remaining in the contest. Queens built its largest lead of 33 points, 82-49, with 5:55 on the clock after a layup from McKee and a dunk from freshman

Redshirt-sophomore
Jamari Smith added 14 points and seven rebounds, while McCluney was the fourth Royal in double figures with 12 points and six rebounds in his first career start. Sophomore
Gavin Rains pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with nine points.
Queens concludes its three-game homestand on Saturday when the team hosts UVA Wise at 4:30 p.m. as part of the University's annual Homecoming festivities.
