CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The No. 5 Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team will return to Curry Arena following Thanksgiving with a non-conference clash with Johnson C. Smith (2-2) on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.  The Royals have opened the new season 5-0, including conference victories over Catawba, Carson-Newman, and Anderson.

Saturday afternoon's meeting will mark the 22^nd contest between Queens and Johnson C. Smith, with the Royals holding an 11-10 advantage. The crosstown rivals have not matched up since 2017-18 when the Royals ousted the Golden Bulls, 83-77. The Royals are winners of their last five meetings with the Golden Bulls.

• In the season opener against Young Harris, the Royals set a new program record with 133 points scored as eight Royals finished with double figures.
• Head Coach Bart Lundy picked up his 400^th career victory in the dominant season opener. Lundy enters his 14^th season at Queens and 20^th season overall as a collegiate head coach.
• The Royals are coming off a physical earned win at Anderson on Tuesday night. Kenny Dye led the Royals with 19 points and four steals. Five Royals managed to score double figures.
• Queens has displayed their depth early as ten Royals are averaging at least 10.0 minutes per game and five Royals are averaging double figures.
• Queens jolted in the recent national rankings as the Royals sit at No. 5 in the NABC Week One Media Poll, No. 5 in the D2SIDA Week Two Poll, and No. 1 in the Southeast Region.
• Returning their top six scorers and top five rebounders, Queens was picked to finish atop the South Atlantic Conference's Preseason Poll, as voted on by the League's coaches. The Royals received over half the first-place votes and 150 total votes as the preseason favorites.
• Kenny Dye and Jamari Smith were each named to the SAC's First-Team Preseason All-Conference Team and Gavin Rains earned Second-Team honors.

• The Golden Bulls are 2-2 on the young season with a pair of victories at Newberry College and Paine College.
• Johnson C. Smith has four players averaging double digit scoring, including Xavier Jones who leads the team with 17.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
• Head Coach Stephen Joyner Sr. is one of the most renowned coaches in the country entering his 28^th season at JCSU and posting a 483-294 overall record.
• The Golden Bulls were picked to finish sixth in the CIAA Preseason Rankings.
