Jamari Smith Named SAC AstroTurf Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens forward Jamari Smith has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week two of the 2021-22 season, the Conference announced today.

Smith, a sophomore from Jonesboro, Ga., led the Royals to a pair of SAC victories last week, including nailing the game-winning three-pointer as time expired to give Queens an 83-81 win over Carson-Newman. In addition to his game-winner, Smith netted 18 points with six rebounds in the Royals' win over Catawba, and he posted a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds in the win over the Eagles. For the week he averaged 17 points with eight rebounds and an assist.
This is Smith's first player of the week selection this season.
