GAFFNEY, S.C.- The Royals (3-8, 2-6) fell tonight to the No. 10 Limestone Saints (7-4, 6-2), in a 2-0 loss on the road. This loss comes on the heels of a victory last weekend that ended a then five-game skid.
The Saints got on the board early in the first quarter with a goal in the third minute. The Royals had opportunities few and far between before the Saints padded their lead with another goal in the 18th minute. Limestone would hold on to their 2-0 lead until the final horn sounded in regulation.
Despite the Royals outshooting the Saints 6-5, they were unable to get one past the goalkeeper and get their offense going.
Maya Forbes led the way for Queens with three of the Royals' six shots on goal.
Queens will look to turn things around next Tuesday as they host conference rival Belmont Abbey at Bessant Field. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Oct. 12.
