CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Royals (4-8, 3-6) are back in the win column after a statement 6-1 win today over Belmont Abbey (6-5, 4-4). The win comes in the first game of a homestand where the Royals will look to get back to their winning ways and gain momentum as they head towards the postseason.

The Crusaders opened today's scoring with their first and only goal of the afternoon in the fourth minute. From there, it was all Queens as the Royals would score six unanswered goals with Millie Eaton-Jones kicking off the scoring in the fifth minute.

Victoria Treddinick and Gabe Lechner added goals in the 11th and 24th minutes allowing the home team to take a 3-1 lead into the half.

Queens kept the opposition quiet in the third before Nicolina Castronovo made it a three-goal lead in the 33rd minute with a goal of her own.

The Royals' Isabel Buijse and Mickayla Clark then scored Queens' final two goals of the game in the fourth quarter to help secure today's commanding victory.
