CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team (5-6-1, 4-3-1) earned its second straight 3-0 shutout win tonight defeating Lincoln Memorial (1-10-2, 0-7-1) at home.
Queens outshot the Railsplitters 20-3, not allowing Lincoln Memorial to record a single shot on goal as the home team placed 12 shots on goal.
Senior forward
Felipe Mendonca continued his stellar play this season notching all three goals for the Royals tonight. Mendonca scored the game-winner in the 23
rd minute before coming back in the second half to tally two more. His goal in the 53
rd minute was scored on a penalty kick while his goal scored in the 55
th minute was his 12
th of the season.
Mendonca currently leads the Royals and the South Atlantic Conference in goals this season, and the forward should move into the top five nationally following tonight's performance. Mendonca also ranks top 10 nationally in goals per game.
Nicolai Andersen earned the clean sheet in goal tonight.
