CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The No. 19/20 Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team hits the road for its first away contest of the new year against South Atlantic Conference foe Coker University. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. from the DeLoach Center in Hartsville, S.C.
Monday marks the 52nd all-time meeting between the two schools with Queens holding a 43-8 advantage in the series. The Royals are 20-4 against the Cobras in Hartsville and have won the last 11 games in the series dating back to the 2014-15 season. Last year, Queens swept the home-and-home series by winning 88-56 in Charlotte and securing a 70-68 victory on the road.
IN THE BACKCOURT
-The Royals start the three-headed machine of juniors
Kenny Dye,
Kelyn Pennie and
Malcolm Stevenson in the backcourt. Dye, a SAC Preseason All-Conference selection, averages 13.4 points per game while registering team-highs of three assists and 1.8 steals per game.
-Stevenson averages a team-high 14.2 points per game and makes 77.8 percent of his free throw attempts, while Pennie chips in 10 points per contest and ranks 8
th in the League making 52 percent (13-for-25) of his 3-point attempts.
-Coker's lone double digit scorer comes in the form of junior guard Chandler Lindsey who averages 16 points per game on 57.1 percent shooting from the floor and 46.2 percent shooting from 3-point range. Junior guards Anderson Keller and Courtney Murrell Jr. each average eight points a game, while Keller leads the Cobras with 3.5 assists per contest.
IN THE FRONT COURT

Gavin Rains controls the paint with averages of 13.6 points and nine rebounds per game. He ranks second in the SAC in rebounds per game and is among the Top 20 shooting 56.6 percent from the floor. Fellow sophomore
Jay'Den Turner is also among the League leaders with seven rebounds per game.
-Redshirt-junior Dakota Jennings in the main option in the post for Coker with averages of 8.5 points and a team-high five rebounds per game. Keller also spends time down low where he averages five rebounds per game of his own.

-Queens Head Coach
Bart Lundy is in his 19
th season overall and 13
th season at Queens. During his career with the Royals, Lundy is the program's winningest coach with a 290-95 (.753) record and has a 386-182 (.679) career coaching record at Queens and NCAA Division I High Point University.
-Coker Head Coach Jarred Merrill enters his second season in charge of the Cobras and second season overall as a collegiate head coach. In his first season, Merrill guided Coker to a 7-19 record, with six of those wins coming in SAC play. Merrill previously spent four years as an assistant at NCAA Division I Mercer University as well as Southern Nazarene University.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-The Royals are 3-2 overall with a 2-1 record in SAC play. Queens averages 75 points per game on offense and has a plus-11.2 margin in rebounds per game. Defensively, Queens has forced opponents into 16.6 turnovers per contest, converting those miscues into 17.6 points per game.
-Last time out, Queens opened the new year with an 88-68 win over South Atlantic Conference foe Lenoir-Rhyne University on Saturday inside Curry Arena. Stevenson led all players with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 4-for-5 from 3-point range, to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Rains followed with 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists of his own, while Dye chipped in 13 points and five rebounds in 30 minutes of play.
-The Cobras are 1-1 overall and have not played since November 24. In the team's most recent game, Coker fell 78-57 to second-ranked Lincoln Memorial University at home after defeating Carson-Newman University 67-53 to begin the season. Against LMU, Lindsey led the Cobras with a game-high 20 points, while Keller added 10 points in the contest.
-Coker ranks near the bottom of the League in points per game (62.0) but is second overall defensively, giving up just 65 points per contest. The Cobras lack of size has led to just 27 rebounds per game, a -7.5 margin against opponents.
