Royals Record Career Highs in Loss at Newberry

NEWBERRY, S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team (0-7, 0-6) traveled to face Newberry (5-7, 4-7) this evening falling 99-54 to the Wolves.
 
Kalaya Hall led the Royals with 18 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Hall also recorded a career-high five made three-pointers. Taylor Stevens added 11 points and a new career-high six assists. Deng totaled 10 points, and Amari Davis led under the glass with six rebounds.
 
After getting off to a slow start and finding themselves trailing the Wolves, 32-12, at the end of the first, the Royals would pick up their play in the second shooting over 40-percent from the floor to add 18 points to their total. However, the Wolves continued their hot shooting in the period as well to take a 52-30 lead into the break.
 
In the third, Newberry continued to build upon its lead increasing the gap to as much as 37 points before the period ended. They then connected on five three-pointers in the fourth to see their largest lead of the night, 99-54, in the final minute of action. 

The Royals return home to Curry Arena on Saturday, January 30 to host Bluefield State. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
