No. 14 Queens Tops Sailfish on the Road

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The 14th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte Royals picked up their fourth win of the season today defeating Palm Beach Atlantic (1-1) by a score of 16-9 on the road.
 
Quinn Tallant led the Royals' offense with four goals on the day while Kealan Pilon recorded seven points on two goals and five assists. Tyler Ewen added a hat trick and Mack Tallant totaled two goals and one assist. Kyle Hornik earned the win in the cage after totaling 14 saves.
 
After falling behind 2-0 late in the first quarter, the Royals put together a 11-2 run to take a 10-4 lead into the halftime break. Queens scored 10 unanswered goals during the run.
 
The Royals' lead built in the first half proved to be enough to put the game away as both teams added five points each to the board across the third and fourth quarters.
 
Queens outshot Palm Beach, 41-34, putting 26 shots on goal. The Royals were edged in ground balls, 36-32, but won the faceoff battle, 20-7. Queens' Drew Flack went 20-26 in the circle and totaled 12 ground balls.
 
Austin Evans led the Sailfish with three points on one goal and two assists while Hunter Hopman and Zack Figura each had two goals. Lee Rowden took the loss in the net after recording 10 saves.
 
The Royals will take a week to reset before hosting No. 6 Belmont Abbey at Dickson Field on Saturday, February 29 at 1 p.m.
