CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Junior
Tristan Santoyo tallied 13 kills and hit. 333 from the outside but the Queens University of Charlotte men's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 (25-22, 17-25, 25-10, 25-14) loss at the hands of Barton College on Friday night in the Levine Center.
Despite eight blocks from the Royals (5-8) defense, Barton (9-2) was able to hit .250 in the match. Outside Andrian Iglesias led all players with 16 kills and hit .600, while right side Angelos Madilaris followed with 13 kills of his own.
After the Bulldogs claimed a slim three-point win in the opening set, Queens stormed back to even the match at 1-all after hitting .619 in the second frame. However, Barton committed just five attack errors over the final two sets to seal the road win.

JP Payne hit .556 and had five kills five total blocks, while juniors
Josh Bragg and
Nic Cavallaro led the defensive with 10 and eight digs, respectively.
The Royals return to conference play on Friday, February 28 against Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee before traveling to Greeneville, Tenn. on Saturday, Feb. 29 for a match against Tusculum University.
