SALISBURY, N.C. – On Wednesday, the Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team (18-6, 13-5 SAC) travels to Catawba College (18-6, 13-5 SAC) for a matchup of two regionally-ranked teams and the two teams tied for second place in the South Atlantic Conference standings. Opening tipoff from Goodman Gymnasium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Queens and Catawba will meet for the 21
st time. The Royals hold a 16-4 all-time edge and have won each of the last 15 meetings, including a 90-80 victory in the season's first encounter on Jan. 15, at the Levine Center. Catawba's last win in the series came back on Nov. 22, 2011, when the Indians topped the Royals, 80-77, in Salisbury.

-So far this season, Queens has collected notable wins over the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (No. 2), Catawba (No. 5), and Emmanuel College (No. 10), all regionally-ranked teams.
-Queens is currently tied with Catawba for second place in the SAC standings. The Royals are five games back of Lincoln Memorial University (18-0) in first place and hold a two-game lead over Tusculum University (11-7) in fourth place. The top four teams in the SAC standings at the end of the season will earn the right to host a quarterfinal game in the SAC Tournament.
-The two-time reigning regional champions improved one spot to No. 4 in the most recent edition of the Southeast Region Poll, D2SIDA announced on Monday, Feb. 17. Queens earned 36 points, to place behind conference rival Lincoln Memorial, UNC-Pembroke, and King University.
-On Saturday, versus UVa-Wise,
Daniel Carr moved into a tie for seventh-place with Antonio Stabler (2009-2013) on Queens' all-time career scoring list (1,390 points). Carr is 10 points shy of tying Spencer Ross, who scored 1,400 points in 62 games from 2002-2004, in sixth place.
-On Tuesday, Dec. 31, the Royals fell out of the NABC / Division II Rankings for the first time this season, ending the program's streak of 65 consecutive weeks in the national coaches' poll. The streak, which began on Nov. 24, 2015, the first poll of the 2015-2016 season, lasted 1,498 days (4 years, 1 month and 7 days). However, Queens is on the verge of returning to the national rankings, having received votes this week in both major national polls.
-Over the previous three seasons, the Royals have won 93 games, the fourth most of any program at all NCAA levels during that span (Gonzaga 103, Northwest Missouri State 100, Villanova 94).
-The Royals have won 30 games or more in each of the last three seasons and are one of just two programs in all levels of NCAA basketball who have accomplished the feat (Gonzaga).

Catawba Indians (18-6, 13-5 SAC)
-The Indians are tied with the Royals for second place in the conference standings, five games back of first-place Lincoln Memorial and two games ahead of Tusculum in fourth place.
-Catawba is currently ranked fifth in the D2SIDA Southeast Region poll.
-The Indians enter Wednesday's meeting having won seven consecutive games, the second-longest active winning streak in the League. Catawba last defeated Carson-Newman University, 74-61, on the road on Wednesday.
-The Indians are led by Devin Cooper, who averages 18.5 points per game (No. 7 SAC). Daquan Lilly is the team's leading rebounder with 7.5 rebounds per game (No. 5 SAC).
-Head Coach Rob Perron is in his sixth season at Catawba and his ninth overall. Formerly the head coach at his alma mater St. Andrew's University ('02-'05), Perron holds an overall coaching record of 125-132 (.486 win pct.).
