CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The 17th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team (14-6, 9-5 SAC) fell to second-ranked Lincoln Memorial University (21-1, 14-0 SAC), 103-80, on Saturday at the Levine Center. Daniel Carr led the Royals with 16 points and five rebounds, as Jay'Den Turner followed with 11 and five boards. Kenny Dye added nine points, Jachai Taylor scored eight with six rebounds, and Jonathan Horodyski also scored eight points.

Lincoln Memorial jumped out to a 13-point first-half lead, 29-16, with 11:02 left in the frame on a jumper by Anthony Brown. But Queens worked to close the gap and after a Jamari Smith layup with 5:48 until the break, the Royals pulled within two, 34-32.

Moments later, LMU responded with an 8-0 run capped by a Devin Whitfield 3-pointer that put the Railsplitters ahead by double figures again, 42-32. In the final seconds of the first half, Brown knocked down a pair of free throws stretching Lincoln Memorial's lead to 53-38 at halftime.

Out of the locker room, the Splitters opened the second half on a 10-2 run sparked by eight points from Courvoisier McCauley, giving LMU a 63-40 lead with 17:42 to play.

LMU led for the entire second half, and reached its largest lead of 30 points, 101-71, on a layup by Jeremiah Keene with 2:50 to go.

Queens shot 42.5 percent from the field, 25.9 percent from the 3-point line and 74.6 percent at the free-throw line. The Royals outrebounded the Railsplitters, 38-35, despite playing without leading rebounder Gavin Rains for the second consecutive game due to injury and Smith only playing 13 minutes due to foul trouble.

Lincoln Memorial shot 54.2 percent from the floor and 41.9 percent from the 3-point line. The Railsplitters hit 26 of 29 attempts at the free-throw line (89.7%).
