CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team hosted Bellarmine University (6-2) at Bessant Field this afternoon falling 4-3. The loss brings the Royals' overall record to 5-3 on the year.

Sta'sha Waterfield,
Millie Eaton-Jones, and
Victoria Tredinnick each scored in today's game while
Gabe Lechner and
Jill Sherman tallied one assist each. In goal,
Avian Thompson recorded three saves.

Bellarmine jumped out ahead 2-0 in the opening quarter of this afternoon's game before a goal from Waterfield in 29
th cut their lead in half just before the break.

The Knights would extend their lead back to two, 3-1, in the third with a goal in the 35
th, but Queens responded in the 39
th to cut the margin back to one with a goal from Eaton-Jones.

In the fourth, Queens' Tredinnick found the back of the cage in the 47
th to knot the game at 3-3 but Bellarmine's Alexa Rastigue answered with what would eventually be the game-winner in the 54
th to give her team the win.

The Royals outshot Bellarmine 14-8 putting nine shots on goal to the Knights' seven shots on frame. Queens also earned 12 penalty corners to Bellarmine's one.

The Knights had goals scored by Merit Harris, Lindsay Reynolds, Amber Hofenk Jerembo, and Rastigue. Heather Gregory totaled six saves in goal.

Queens will be back at home on Bessant Field on Friday, October 4 when they welcome Bloomsburg University for a 4 p.m. game.
