Harrogate, Tenn. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team (3-2; 1-1 SAC) surrendered an early goal and never recovered losing at Lincoln Memorial (1-2-2; 1-1 SAC).
Jorge Melgar sunk the first goal in the 18th minute to set the tone for the Railsplitters clinging to a 1-0 lead for the majority of the match. Sonnie Mathis added an insurance goal in the 81st minute to effectively put the game away.
Queens failed to reach the scoreboard despite outshooting LMU 17-15 with seven shots on goal led by junior midfielder Keegan Burton with three. It was a turbulent contest featuring 23 fouls and three yellow cards.
Queens is back in action Wednesday, September 25th as they return home to host Chowan University at 4 p.m.
