CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team has announced the signing of Zeke Littlejohn to its roster for the 2019-2020 season. Littlejohn, a 6-5 guard/forward from Kings Mountain, North Carolina, will enroll at Queens as a freshman in the upcoming fall semester.
During his senior season at Kings Mountain High School, Littlejohn led his team to a 21-7 record and a conference championship while averaging 21.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. He shot 54 percent from the field and 43 percent from the 3-point line while making 81 3's.
Littlejohn's play garnered him Big South Conference Player of the Year honors, a selection to the East/West All-Star Game and an All-Charlotte Observer Third-Team selection. In his high school career, Littlejohn was named a first-team all-conference selection three times, a first-team all-district selection three times and graduated as the all-time leading scorer in Kings Mountain High School history (1,776 points).
"Zeke is an accomplished scorer and winner who had a storied career at Kings Mountain High School, leaving them as their all-time leading scorer," said Royals head coach
Bart Lundy. "We are excited to add someone to our roster who can shoot at such an elite level, but who also has such great character."
In 2018-2019, Queens totaled a 31-5 record while winning the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship by five games and the Southeast Regional Championship. The Royals advanced to the Elite Eight for the second season in a row and the fourth time in program history.
Queens spent the entire season in the national rankings, peaking at No. 7 in the coaches' poll and finishing at No. 10, extending its streak to 60 consecutive weeks in the poll. The streak dates back to Nov. 24, 2015, and spans the entirety of the last four seasons.
Over the past three seasons, the Royals have won 93 games, the fourth-most of any program at all NCAA levels during that span (Gonzaga 103, Northwest Missouri State 100, Villanova 94). Queens has won at least 30 games in each of the last three years.
The Royals return three starters and eight letter winners from last year's championship team. Littlejohn joins AJ McKee, Gavin Rains, and Jay'Den Turner, as the fourth member of the 2019 recruiting class.
