SALISBURY, N.C. – The No. 19 Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team collected its second straight South Atlantic Conference win, defeating Catawba College 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Center.
Queens took two of three doubles matches to open play as the No. 48 duo of
Julian Bosch and
Agustin Aran Martin won 6-4 and the tandem of
Sebastian Meum and
Kasper Rolfsen won by default.
The Royals won four of six singles matches, including a 6-4, 6-2 win by Martin, the nation's 35
th-ranked singles player. Junior
Joel Dunlap won by default at No. 6 and Meum was a 6-1, 6-1 winner in the fifth flight. Senior
Mathias Degardin won a marathon contest at No. 4 by scores of 5-7, 6-1, 10-5.
Conference play continues on Saturday, April 6 when the team welcomes Newberry College to the Howard Levine Tennis Center for a match beginning at 1 p.m.
