HARROGATE, TENN. – The Queens University of Charlotte baseball hit five home runs and scored five runs over the final two innings of game one to earn a doubleheader split with South Atlantic Conference foe Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday afternoon.
Game One: Queens 11, Lincoln Memorial 10
The Royals used a late-inning comeback to steal a one-run victory over Lincoln Memorial. The Railsplitters led 3-0 after two innings of play before Queens used an RBI double from freshman
Alex Sexton and an RBI triple from redshirt-junior
Chase Hager to go up 4-3 in the top half of the fourth.
However, Lincoln Memorial responded with four runs of its own in the home half of the fourth to retake the lead and extended its advantage to 10-5 after five innings.
Queens began its comeback in the eighth inning as redshirt-freshman Anthony led off the frame with a double and later scored on a two-run home run from freshman
Tanner Jacobson to cut the deficit to three runs.

Nick Melton hit back-to-back long with one out in the top of the ninth before Orta played the hero with a two-run bomb to left field to give the Royals n 11-10 lead. Jacobson moved to the mound and shut down the side in order in the bottom of the ninth to earn his second save of the season.
Game Two: Lincoln Memorial 1, Queens 0 (Seven inn.)
The Railsplitters and Royals found themselves in a pitching duel in the series final as Queens starter
Lee Harrison (0-3) and LMU starter Matt Mullenbach both went the distance on the mound.
Harrison (0-3) was hit with the loss despite allowing just one run on five hits with seven strikeouts in his first complete game of the season. Mullenbach tallied eight strikeouts and gave up four hits in the win.
Lincoln Memorial scored its only run of the game on a passed ball in the third inning. Four different Royals collected a hit in the game as Ford, Jones, Melton and Orta each had a single.
The Royals conclude their five-game road trip on Tuesday, March 26 when they travel to Gaffney, S.C. for the second game of a home-and-home series with Limestone College.
