RESULTS
INDIANAPOLIS – The Queens University of Charlotte women's swimming team won three more events on Saturday night in securing the program's fifth straight NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championship at the IU Natatorium.
Freshman
Polina Lapshina concluded her Championship performance with her fourth individual win of the meet, setting a new NCAA Division II record in the 100-Yard Freestyle with a swim of 48.16.
Another freshman,
Bobbie Gichard, won her first national title, claiming first place in the 200-Yard Backstroke with a swim of 1:55.08. Sophomore
Rachel Massaro was the race's runner-up, reaching the wall in 1:55.57.
Lapshina,
Josefina Lorda-Taylor,
Wanda Dollmayer, and
Shelly Prayson formed a team that matched an NCAA record in the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:18.04.
Sophomore
Francesca Bains shattered her own school record in the 1,650-Yard Freestyle, turning in a time of 16:25.32 for a second-place finish in the race.

In a post-meet ceremony, Lapshina was named the 2019 CSCAA Division II Female Swimmer of the Meet. The award is the first for a Royals swimmer since Patricia Ortega won the award in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016.
Over the four-day meet, the Royals won 10 events for a total of 707.5 team points and set five NCAA Division II records.
