GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's rugby team defeated the Hawks of Lehigh University Saturday afternoon, winning 82-10, to move on to the Elite 8 round of the USAR Division II 15-a-side National Championship tournament.

The squad moves to a 6-1 overall record and 1-0 in the Cardinals Collegiate Rugby Conference this fall season.

The Royals were led by freshman
Devon McCarthy who recorded three tries in the win.
Jacob Morris,
Dominic Tianga, and
Alston Burton each ran in two tries, while
Zion Thomas,
Doyle Hedgepeth,
Decor Davis, and
Ben Stapleton tallied one try each.

Freshman
Jack Williams chipped in 8-out-of-13 attempted conversions for the Royals as well.

With this win, the Royals advance to the Elite 8 round and will remain in Greenville to face the University of Massachusetts-Lowell Sunday, November 24 at 12 p.m. The winner of this match will advance to the Final Four round of the tournament that will take place in Matthews, N.C.
