TEMPE, Ariz. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's triathlon short-course squad won its fifth Division II title at the USA-Triathlon Collegiate National Championships Saturday afternoon, as the whole team placed within the top-11, taking the No. 2, 3, 7, 9, 10 and 11 spots to bring home more hardware.

Sonni Dyer stated. "Title No. 5 was a lot like 2015 all over again. Complete teamwork and selfless execution by every member of our squad today."
The Royals finished with twelve points, atop Davis and Elkins College in second, Colorado Mesa University in third, and Black Hills State University in fourth.
"We're among the best running teams in the country across all divisions and that was proven today," said Dyer. "With 'all-for-one' tactics we maintain our place among the top collegiate varsity triathlon programs."
Freshman
Natalie Bash led the charge for the Royals placing in second overall in Division II with a time of 1:07:10, and was closely followed by her fellow freshman teammate,
Sam McInnes, who took third overall in Division II at 1:07:36.
Additionally, sophomore
Jordan Grantz finished in seventh with a time of 1:11:29 and
Paola Horvat finished in ninth at 1:11:49. Freshmen
Lia Federbusch (1:12:23) and
Veronika Divis (1:12:41) followed in 10th and 11th place respectively.
"These ladies have the heart of champions and they've carried on the 'Queens way'," Dyer continued. "Today was for every QU triathlete who has ever earned that ring."
