CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The sixth-seeded Queens University of Charlotte Royals (13-5-1) will face second-seeded Wingate University (12-3-2) in the South Atlantic Conference Championship Semifinals on Friday, November 15 at the Matthews Sportsplex.
The Royals recently came in at No. 7 in the latest NCAA DII Region rankings after upsetting third-seeded Carson-Newman 2-1 in the quarterfinals over the weekend.
Keely Jackson recorded a goal in the win while Queens' second goal was an own goal.
Erica Turner totaled four saves in goal.
Wingate, who ranks sixth regionally, shutout Anderson in the quarterfinal round winning by a score of 2-0. Chandler Hendrix and Samantha Olson both scored in the win while Abbey Frail totaled five saves in goal.
Kaitlyn Cox and Taylor Krakower each have 15 points to lead the Bulldogs this season. Cox has six goals and three assists while Krakower has four goals and seven assist. Frail is 11-3-2 on the year with a .821 save percentage.

Nia Gaither leads the Royals with 24 points on 11 goals and two assists.
Emma Rose Stockton follows with 14 points on six goals and two assists. In goal, Turner has a record of 13-5-1 and a .822 save percentage.
Wingate won the regular season match between the pair by a score of 2-1 back in October. After a goal from Morgan Zanardi put the Bulldogs in front, Stockton tied the game at 1-1 with a goal in the 53
rd. However, a goal from Wingate's Brianna Ditillo in the 55
th gave them the win.
The Royals played the Bulldogs to a 1-1 tie last season and their last win over Wingate was during the 2016 season.
Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Ticket prices are below and the first 100 students with a valid student I.D. will be covered at the gate by Queens Athletics.
