CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team recorded a 6-0 South Atlantic Conference Carolinas win over Converse College (1-9, 1-7) this afternoon to move to 5-1 in the league and 6-4 on the year.

Queens got going early this afternoon when
Victoria Tredinnick connected with
Millie Eaton-Jones in the eighth to put the home team in front, 1-0.
Jenna Lloyd then teamed up with
Gabe Lechner to score her ninth and 10
th goals of the year, giving Queens a 3-0 lead heading into the second quarter.

After putting no points on the board in the both the second and third quarters, the Royals would close the game as they had started it putting three goals on the board in the final 15 minutes of action. Two of the goals would come from the stick of
Jill Sherman while
Hanna Nechay scored the last.

Queens' defense did not allow a single shot from the Valkyries this afternoon as
Avian Thompson recorded her second shutout win of the year. Conversely, the Royals totaled 28 shots putting 17 shots on goal.

The Royals will be back in action on Thursday, October 10 completed the home-and-home series with Converse in Spartanburg, S.C. Play is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
