Charlotte, NC - The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team (8-5; 5-3 SAC) exploded for three second-half goals finalizing a shutout 3-0 victory over Mars Hill (4-10-1; 0-8 SAC).
After a scoreless first half, Queens scored the game-winning goal in the 55th minute courtesy of a connection between sophomore midfielder Jaden McCane and freshman midfielder Caio Brandao. Queens protected its lead behind its smothering defensive effort limiting Mars Hill to 2 total shots. The Royals later added on with two more goals in the final 15 minutes by junior defender Michael Hornsby and sophomore forward Louis Goldsack winning by a final score of 3-0.
Queens honored seniors Sebastian Kalk, Nick Aparicio, Antonio Sanchez, Chandler Meador, and Justin Cramarossa at the halftime Senior Day ceremony.
Queens plays its next match on the road at Newberry Saturday, November 2nd at 7:30 p.m.
