Queens Completes Season Sweep of Saints

Box Score

GAFFNEY, S.C.- With exactly five minutes left to play in regulation, Queens University of Charlotte's Victoria Tredinnick found the back of the cage to lift the Royals past Limestone College (8-5, 5-4) 1-0 on the road. The South Atlantic Conference Carolinas win moves the Royals to the top of the league standings at 7-1 in conference play and 9-5 on the year.

Today's evenly played match appeared to be heading for overtime until Paige Ramsey connected with Tredinnick for the game-winning goal at minute 55. Neither team would get another shot off in the remaining minutes of regulation.

The Saints edged the Royals in shots this afternoon narrowly, 12-11, though both teams would put six shots on goal each. Avian Thompson of Queens completed play with six saves in goal while Limestone's Daisy Ruhle recorded five.

Limestone earned 10 penalty corners to the Royals' five, but Queens' defense held strong each time to keep the Saints scoreless for the first time this season.

Queens returns to play at Bessant Field on Tuesday, October 23 against Coker College. Play is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
