MARS HILL, N.C. – Extending their streak to six matches in a row, the No. 15 Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team defeated Mars Hill University 7-2 in another South Atlantic Conference matchup at Hart Tennis Center.
The Royals hopped out in front 2-1 after doubles play with Queens' first point coming from
Agustin Aran Martin and
Sebastian Meum's 8-1 win at No. 2. The duo of freshman
Kasper Rolfsen and sophomore
Eugeno Zanasi came out on top in their matchup at No. 3, winning 8-6.
In singles play, the Royals won five out of the six matchups with
Julian Bosch winning the No. 1 spot in three sets 6-4, 1-6, 10-8. Aran Martin won his matchup in two sets, 6-2, 6-2, in the No. 2 spot.
Finishing in the No. 3 spot was Meum who won 6-4, 6-0 and Rolfsen took the No. 4 spot winning 6-3, 6-3. Queens' final point came from a two set win by sophomore
Joel Dunlap to seal the match.
The Royals will host both Carson-Newman University and Johnson C. Smith University on Saturday, April 14 at the Queens Tennis Complex beginning at Noon. The team will hold a pre-match ceremony to honor its two-member senior class as a part of Queens' Senior Day festivities.
