CHARLOTTE, N.C.  – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team, ranked 15
th in the nation, moved to 1-6 on the season after facing its fourth top 10 opponent this season in No. 6 Limestone College. The Royals fell 12-8 to the Saints who improved to 6-1 on the year with the win.

Sydney Lear led Queens recording a hat trick in the second half of tonight's game.
Taylor Quade added two goals and one assist while
Hanna Scott tallied one goal and one assist. Scott's goal was the 100
th of her career. Defensively, the Royals were led by
Cammy Case who totaled five caused turnovers.
Jasmin Singh added three ground balls and two caused turnovers, while
Katie Wardle recorded four draw controls.

After Limestone's Caitlyn Nemeth scored the first goal of the day at 27:13, Queens'
Allison Conn and Scott would score two unanswered goals to give the Royals a 2-1 lead with 20:35 on the clock. However, four straight goals followed for the Saints to put them in front, 5-2, at 15:30. Quade would answer with a pair to pull the Royals back within one, 5-4, but the Saints found two more goals before the horn to take a 7-4 lead into the break.

Rachel Perrett would get things going for the Royals in the second after finding the back of the net at 25:24 to cut the margin to two, 7-5. But, once again Limestone responded with a run taking a 10-5 lead at 15:10. Lear would then score the remaining three goals of the night for Queens outscoring Limestone 3-2 in the final 12:30 of regulation.

Queens was outshot 26-19, putting 15 shots on goal to Limestone's 22 shots on frame. The Royals led in ground balls, 17-12, but lost the battle at the draw, 12-10.

Limestone was led by Caitlyn Nemeth and Courtney Lafler who each recorded three goals. Shannon Sisk added two goals and two assists while Britannie Ouimet totaled one goal and four assists. Kendra Sheppard finished with two goals. Jenna Haring took the win in goal after recording seven saves.

Queens will open South Atlantic Conference play on the road against Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday, March 17. The game will be played at the University of Cumberland's James H. Taylor, II Stadium due to foreseeable inclement weather conditions in Harrogate, Tenn. Opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
