CHARLOTTE, N.C.  – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team, currently ranked 15
th in the nation, fell 13-12 to No. 13 West Chester University this evening dropping the Royals to 1-5 on the year. The Golden Rams move 4-0 on the season with the win.

Katie Wardle led the Royals with six points after totaling three goals and three assists.
Hanna Scott added four goals and one assist while
Allison Conn recorded three goals. Defensively,
Cammy Case led with six caused turnovers and seven ground balls.
Chase Brokaw took the loss in goal after registering nine saves.

After falling behind 2-0, the Royals would cut their deficit to one at 22:09 when Conn found the back of the net. The two teams then traded goals over the next seven minutes before Queens put together a 4-0 run to take over control and lead 6-4 with 7:50 to play. West Chester then responded outscoring the Royals 3-1 in the closing minutes to knot the game at 7-7 heading into the break.

The Golden Rams continued their run into the second half scoring a goal just 32 seconds into play, but they would only stay in front for 18 seconds before Wardle equalized things at 8-8. The two teams then traded goals again before West Chester found a pair to move in front 11-9 with 14:58 on the clock. Conn and Wardle then teamed up to answer for Queens scoring back-to-back goals to tie the game at 11-11 with 11:34 left in regulation.

With the game sitting tied for the fifth time, West Chester once again found the back of the net twice more to lead 13-11 at 9:06. Queens' Scott would score one more time for the Royals with 1:40 on the clock to give the game its final score.

Queens was outshot, 31-25, putting 19 shots on goal to West Chester's 22. However, the Royals won the battle for ground balls, 26-22.

Sami Barnett led the Golden Rams with five goals and one assist while Tatum Altman added four goals. Maggie Stella totaled two goals. Nicole Martins and Julianne Clemens split time in goal to combine for seven saves.

Queens will return home to Dickson Field on Thursday, Mar. 15 to face No. 6 Limestone College. The Royals fell 11-10 to the Saints last season. Wardle recorded a hat trick in the loss while Scott and
Ally Blood added two goals each. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
