HARROGATE, TENN. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's volleyball team suffered its fifth straight loss on Saturday night with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-13) defeat at the hands of Lincoln Memorial University.
After hosting a tri-match on Friday, the Royals (3-13) made the long trip to Tennessee and struggled offensively, hitting -.030. The Railsplitters (6-6) committed just eight errors on offense and hit .468 as a unit with eight service aces.
Aside from a brief Royals' lead in the second set, Lincoln Memorial was in control for the whole match. Joshua Ribbett led all players with 10 kills and an .833 hitting mark, while three other Railsplitters followed with six kills apiece.
Freshman
Donovan Bethel led the Queens' attack with five kills and a .300 hitting mark, as fellow freshman
Conner Nagaki had a match-high six digs on defense.
Queens hosts defending Conference Carolinas Champion Barton College in the team's next match on Friday, March 2 in the Levine Center at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs earned a 3-1 win over Queens earlier this month in Wilson, N.C.
