CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Riding a six-game winning streak, and currently tied for first place in the South Atlantic Conference, the 19
th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team (11-2, 4-0 SAC), hosts Coker College (2-7, 0-3 SAC) on Family Night, Wednesday evening. All fans in attendance will receive free admission. Opening tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
The Royals and the Cobras will meet for the 49th time, with Queens holding a 40-8 all-time edge. Queens has won seven straight over Coker, including a 102-74 win in the most recent meeting on Jan. 31, 2018.

-In their most recent game, the Royals trailed by 15 with 15:30 to play, but recovered and defeated the Tusculum University Pioneers, 77-62, on Sunday evening at Pioneer Arena. Queens held Tusculum to 17.6-percent shooting in the second half, while allowing just 21 second-half points, to pick up its sixth-straight win, and its 10th in the last 11 games.
Shaun Willett led Queens with 21 points and a career-high 18 rebounds to notch his 10th double-double of the season.Â
Van Turner Jr. added 18 points on 5-for-10 3-point shooting.Â
Lewis Diankulu scored 10 points with seven rebounds.
-With a double-double on Sunday, Willett now leads the NCAA (more than 1,200 institutions) with 10 double-doubles this season. At the Division II level, Will Vorhees of Notre Dame College (Ohio) is second with 8 double-doubles. In DI, Ethan Happ of the University of Wisconsin and Demajeo Wiggins of Bowling Green State University both have nine. In DIII, Garrisson Duvivier of Gordon College and Mike Rapoza of Anna Maria College also both have nine.
-During the current winning streak, Queens completed a 2-0 week with wins over two reigning conference champions by an average of 24 points. On Monday, Dec. 3, Queens beat reigning CIAA Tournament Champions, Virginia Union University, 92-72, on the road. The Royals followed the win with a 90-62 victory over reigning SAC Champions Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday, Dec. 8.

Daniel Carr was named AstroTurf SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance Dec. 3-Dec. 9. The award was the first SAC weekly honor in his career. Carr scored 20 points in the win over VUU on 6-for-10 from the floor and a perfect seven of seven at the free throw line, while tying a career-high with eight assists and securing five rebounds. Against LMU, Carr scored 22 points, 15 from distance on five of seven 3-point shooting and a perfect 3-for-3 at the stripe. For the week, Carr averaged 21 points, 4.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor, 60 percent from the 3-point line and 100 percent from the free throw line.
-Queens was named the season's first NCAA Division II Team of the Week by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for its performance Nov. 25—Dec. 1. The Royals finished that week 2-0, with a road win over then-No. 23 Lenoir-Rhyne University, 76-69, and a win over Anderson University, 79-77.
-Willett currently ranks sixth in the SAC in scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game. He is first in the League in rebounding, and third nationally, with 11.3 rebounds per game.
-Carr is ninth in the SAC in scoring (16.5 PPG), fourth in assists (5.3 APG), and sixth in 3-point field goal percentage (50.9%).
-Diankulu is the League's fifth-leading rebounder with 7.5 boards per game.
-Turner is T-7th in 3-point shooting (50.0%) and his 48 made 3-pointers ranks him atop the SAC and tied for third nationally.
-As a team, Queens is shooting 52.7 percent (No. 6 NCAA, No. 1 SAC) and 44.2 percent from three (No. 6 NCAA, No. 1 SAC).
-Since allowing 87 points in each of the first two games of the season, the Royals have ramped it up defensively. Queens has held each of its last 11 opponents to less than 80 points, five of its last ten to less than 70 points, and are allowing an average of 70.7 points per game in that stretch. The Royals are holding opponents to 40.8-percent shooting over the last 11 games, having five times in that span held an opponent under 40-percent shooting, including in each of the last three games. On Sunday at Tusculum, Queens posted a season-best defensive performance, allowing 62 points and holding the Pioneers to 34.4-percent shooting.
- For another week, Queens remained in the official coaches' poll, improving two spots to No. 19 in the most recent edition of the NABC/Division II Rankings released on Tuesday, Dec. 11. The placement in the fourth official poll of the season marks the 49th consecutive week in which Queens has been featured in the national rankings dating back to the first poll of the 2015-2016 season on Nov. 24, 2015. The Royals opened the year at No. 7 in the coaches' poll and have cracked the top-10 nationally during each of the last four seasons. Additionally, Queens appeared at No. 13 nationally in the D2SIDA Media Poll released on Tuesday. The Royals are ranked second in the Southeast Region with a region record of 8-1.
-Head Coach
Bart Lundy is in his sixth season since returning to Queens and his 11
th overall at the helm in Charlotte. In 17 years as a head coach in Division I and II, Lundy has posted an overall record of 339-170 (.665 win pct.) and a record at Queens of 243-83 (.745 win pct.). Lundy has led Queens to all three of its Elite Eight appearances.

Coker Cobras (2-7, 0-3 SAC)
-Coker has lost three-straight games entering Wednesday night, most recently falling to Barton College, 104-69, in a non-conference matchup on Monday.
-Coker's only wins this season have come at Southern Wesleyan University, 73-61, on Nov. 20, and versus Limestone College, 83-79, on Nov. 29.
-The Cobras are led by senior guard Khalil Halls, who ranks fifth in the SAC, averaging 17.8 points per game. Halls, a preseason second-team all-conference selection, has scored in double figures in every game this season and is averaging 19.6 points per over his last five games.
-Coker is coached by Aric Samuel who is in his third season at the helm in Hartsville. He holds an overall record of 22-44 (.333 win pct.).
