MARS HILL, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team (10-4-1; 7-3 SAC) picked up its tenth win of the season today after shutting out Mars Hill by a final score of 3-0 from Meares Stadium.Â
With the win, the Royals are named regular season Co-Champions of the South Atlantic Conference. Queens has 21 overall points in SAC play, tied with Lenoir-Rhyne for first-place.Â

The Royals were led by goals from three seniors,
Liam Doyle,
Omer Okyar and
Austin Clamon.Â

Doyle scored the match's first goal in the 39th minute, his fourth of the season, while Okyar added a penalty kick in the 51st minute. Okyar's goal was his fourth of the season and makes him 4-for-5 this season taking penalty kicks for Queens.Â

Clamon added to the lead in the 82nd minute in his final regular season game as a Royal after heading home a corner kick from teammate
Michael Hornsby. Clamon's header hit off the inner far right post and crossed the goal line to give Queens a three-goal advantage.Â

It was Hornsby's fourth assist of the season, while it was Clamon's second goal this year as well as second of his career.Â

The Royals dominated on the offensive end, outshooting the Lions 17-7 and 10-3 on shots on goal. Queens' goalkeeper
Sebastian Kalk recorded three saves and picked up his sixth shutout of the season.Â

Queens rounds out the regular season with double-digit wins for the first time since 2015. It will host the Quarterfinals match on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from Dickson Field.Â
