LEXINGTON, Va. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's rugby team fell to last season's National Championship runner-up Virginia Military Institute on the road Saturday afternoon, 49-24.
Queens saw tries from
Charles Bradbary,
Drew Barrett,
Doyle Hedgepeth, and
Stanton Johnson in the loss. Bradbary would also kick two successful conversions in the match.
The Royals put 14 points up on the board before heading into halftime, but despite their scoring in the second half they were unable to stop VMI scoring before time expired.
The squad will complete their fall season at home Saturday, October 27 next against Roanoke College. Play is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
