CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In a physical game between conference foes that yielded five yellow cards and one red card, the Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team (7-3-1; 4-2 in SAC) fell 3-1 to Carson-Newman (7-3-1; 4-2-1 in SAC) after playing the final 47 minutes down a man at Dickson Field. 
 
The Eagles scored its first goal in the 13th minute to gain an early 1-0 lead, but then took advantage of being a man up in the second half of play, finding the back of the net twice on seven shots. 
 
Despite being down a man, Queens outshot the Eagles, 8-7, in the second half of play. The Royals even cut the lead to one in the 73rd minute when Edmundo Robinson's throw-in traveled all the way into the box and onto the head of Kieran Gore who headed it in for the score. 
 
The Eagles then retaliated in the 81st minute with a goal from Kensho Yoshikoshi off a free kick from Jonny Le Quesne to spread the lead back to two and the eventual 3-1 final score. 
 
Robinson, who leads the league in shots, recorded seven shots against the Eagles and three on goal. His assist extends his team-lead in points with 13, and he has now recorded at least one point in his last four matches and five out of the last six. 
 
For Gore, it was his first goal of the season. Alberto Morales, Liam Doyle, Adam Ward and Louis Goldsack each recorded shots for the Royals. 
 
Omer Oykar left the field for the Royals after receiving two yellow cards in the first half. 
 
Queens will look to get back on track at home on Wednesday, Oct. 17 against Wingate. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. from Dickson Field.
