CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The top-ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team faces Newberry College on the road on Wednesday evening in a South Atlantic Conference matchup. With a win, Queens would tie program records for winning streak and best start to a season, after last year setting both marks with a 16-0 record before suffering its first loss. The Royals lead the all-time series with the Wolves 13-5, having won each of the last four meetings.

-The Royals are 15-0 for the second consecutive year after most recently defeating Mars Hill University, 93-64, on the road on Saturday afternoon.
Todd Withers led three in double figures with 18 points and seven rebounds.
Ike Agusi and
Daniel Carr each scored 12 points.
-Queens is ranked No. 1 in the NABC/Division II National Rankings for the first time in program history. The Royals moved up one spot from last week's poll receiving 13 of a possible 16 first-place votes. Queens also ranks No. 2 nationally in the D2SIDA media poll, and No. 1 in the southeast region receiving five of a possible six first-place votes.
-The Royals are the first ever Charlotte-area men's college basketball program to receive a No. 1 national ranking in their classification.
-Over the last three seasons, Queens has opened a combined 43-0 before losing, opening the 2015-2016 season 12-0, and opening the 2016-2017 season 16-0, prior to this season's 15-0 start.
-Queens is the only program in the nation, in all levels of NCAA competition, to have started each of the last three seasons 10-0 or better.
-The Royals have secured 12 of their 15 wins by double figures, and have compiled eight wins over teams with a winning record, two wins over regionally-ranked opponents and one win over a nationally-ranked opponent.
-Queens is beating opponents by an average of 17.2 points per game, which ranks No. 6 nationally.
-Queens is one of five remaining unbeaten teams in Division II, and one of 10 remaining unbeaten NCAA programs.
-With a victory over Tarleton State University on Dec. 30, Queens completed its non-conference schedule unbeaten for the third consecutive season. The Royals last non-conference loss came versus Livingstone, 73-71, on Dec. 3, 2014. Queens has won 24 straight non-conference games including the postseason.
-The Royals are allowing 66.3 points per game which is the best mark in the South Atlantic Conference and 19th in the nation. Queens holds its opponents to 39.9 percent shooting (No. 16 NCAA, No. 2 SAC), and is out-rebounding opponents by 9.2 rebounds per game (No. 15 NCAA, No. 2 SAC).
-Last time out versus Mars Hill, Queens forced 20 turnovers and generated 15 steals, led by Carr who had five steals.
-Queens is led by
Todd Withers who is averaging a team-high 14.4 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game. Withers is 13
th in the SAC in scoring and third in rebounding.
-On Dec. 30 versus Tarleton State, Withers grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds and scored 11 points to record his 12
th career double-double and his 5
th of the season. Since the start of December, Withers has scored in double figures in all nine games and posted a double-figure rebounding performance on four occasions.
-The Royals feature a balanced attack with four of five starters averaging double figures (Withers 14.4 PPG,
Mike Davis 12.1 PPG,
Jalin Alexander 10.9 PPG, and
Ike Agusi 10.9 PPG), and have featured six different leading scorers in a game this season.

Newberry Wolves (8-6, 3-4 SAC)
-Newberry most recently defeated Mars Hill 111-99 on Monday night at home to snap a three-game losing streak.
-The Wolves were led by Rob Valentine, who scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half, and Marshall Lange who scored 23, both of whom came off the bench. Newberry totaled 76 bench points in the win.
-All six of Newberry's losses this season have come by five points or less. In its only matchup with a ranked opponent this season, the Wolves nearly pulled an upset of then-No. 4 Lincoln Memorial University, falling 94-90, on Dec. 16.
-The Wolves are 7-3 at home this year, but just 1-3 away from Eleazer Arena.
-Newberry plays a fast-paced style, averaging 88.3 points per game (No. 16 NCAA, No. 3 SAC), 69.6 field goal attempts per game (No. 1 SAC), and 36.2 3-point attempts per game (No. 2 NCAA, No. 1 SAC). The Wolves are led by Rob Valentine who averages 18 .3 points per game (T-No. 4 SAC) and leads four scorers who average double figures.
-In last year's final meeting with Queens in Newberry, the Wolves led by 15 points in the first half, 10 at halftime, and lost to the Royals 89-84.
