CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Performance
Brandon Johnson announces the addition of
Jordan Heinlein to his staff as an assistant athletic trainer. Heinlein comes to Queens after most recently spending time at Belmont Abbey College.
"Jordan's love for athletics, passion for serving her student-athletes, and experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer make her a valuable team member," Johnson stated.
Prior to joining the Royals, Heinlein worked with the Crusaders for just over two seasons as the primary athletic trainer for men's basketball, men's soccer, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, and women's lacrosse. Additionally, Heinlein served as an athletic trainer for Varsity Brands Inc. working with UCA, NCA, UDA, NDA, and USA Cheer companies.
Before joining the staff at Belmont Abbey Heinlein was a graduate student athletic trainer at Lenoir-Rhyne University working with football, men's soccer, women's lacrosse, and women's volleyball. While with the Bears Heinlein co-developed a new sickle cell trait policy and protocol and administered the athletic training club. She also did a case study on structural in toeing and its effect on sport functioning, and a research study on the effectiveness of a neuromuscular training program as a preventative technique for anterior cruciate ligament injuries. Additionally, Heinlein spent time at Benedictine University as an intern with their men's and women's basketball, men's lacrosse, and women's volleyball teams in the summer of 2014.
"I am extremely excited to join Queens as a part of the sports medicine staff," Heinlein stated. "I am eager to join the high-quality individuals from diverse backgrounds and make my own impact. The opportunity to work with the student-athletes and coaches in a university that establishes such a high standard all-around is humbling. I am looking forward to adding to that standard with my background and experiences."
Heinlein received her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May of 2012 before earning her master's degree in athletic training from Lenoir-Rhyne in May of 2015.
