CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team grabbed its first South Atlantic Conference (SAC) win tonight over Tusculum College. The Royals' 4-3 overtime win puts them at 3-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference. Tusculum drops to 0-4-2 on the season and 0-2-1 in the SAC.

The Pioneers opened up the scoring in the second minute of play when Rocco Menna got a pass off to Shawn Foster who would put one in the back of the net.
Keegan Burton responded for the Royals in the 17th minute when he took a strike from outside the 18-yard box to put the score at 1-1. In the 28th minute, Foster got a breakaway and found an open net to put the Pioneers up 2-1. Oscar Rubio Jimenez found open field as well in the 34th-minute netting another goal for Tusculum and giving them their biggest lead of the night, 3-1.

With a minute left in the first half, Queens'
Edmundo Robinson finished a header off of a corner by
Liam Doyle. His goal gave the game a 3-2 score at the break.

At the start of the second half, Robinson dribbled up the right side of the box and hit a shot into the left corner of the goal, tying the score at 3-3. The score then remained tied for the rest of regulation sending the game into overtime.

In the 95th minute, Tusculum was called for a foul inside the box that set the Royals up for a penalty kick and the game-winning goal. Omer Okyar took the kick and scored the golden goal, giving Queens the 4-3 win over the Pioneers.

Robinson led the Royals with six shots on goal. He was followed by Burton who had two shots on goal and Okyar who accumulated one. Goalkeeper
Ben Wallace recorded two saves for Queens.

The Royals travel to Jefferson City, Tennessee to face Carson-Newman this Saturday, September 23 in a match that is set to start at 7:30 p.m. The Royals won, 2-1, over the Eagles last season.
