MANHEIM, Pa. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team and Kutztown University faced off today at Spooky Nook Sports this afternoon to compete in the first NCAA Division II to be played at the home of USA Field Hockey. The Royals drop to 0-3 on the year after losing 3-1 to the Bears while Kutztown remains undefeated on the year with the win moving to 4-0.

Trailing 1-0 at the half, Queens'
Korey Fine knotted things up with a goal in the 37
th minute of action after rebounding a shot and sending the ball into the cage.

The game remained tied until Kutztown's Trinity Ponton scored the game winner in the 66
th on a rebounded shot off the post. Kyra Wozniak would follow with an insurance goal for the Bears in the 67
th to give the game its final score of 3-1.

Queens was outshot, 31-8, putting six shots on goal to Kutztown's 17. The Bears also won 14 penalty corners to Queens' two.

Kelsey Fringer completed the day in the cage for Queens with 13 saves, while Chardonnay Hope of Kutztown recorded four saves.

The Royals will host Belmont Abbey College on Saturday at 11 a.m. for their next contest. Queens faced the Crusaders twice in their inaugural season winning both games.
