Royals Look to Grab Historical Win in SAC Championship Final

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team (27-3) will face Lincoln Memorial University (26-4) this afternoon in the South Atlantic Conference Championship. The championship game appearance is the first in program history.
 
The No. 7/10 Royals advanced to today's game on the back of a commanding 79-51 victory over Wingate University, which avenged the two regular season losses to the Bulldogs. Todd withers led after recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Daniel Camps added 15 points and nine rebounds, while Ike Agusi totaled 14 points, five assists, and three steals. Mike Davis chipped in with 11 points.
 
The No. 4/9 Railsplitters are making their fifth consecutive championship appearance after defeating Carson-Newman College, 105-62, yesterday evening. Trevon Shaw led with 30 points, while Luquon Choice added 21 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Emanuel Terry also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The Royals split the home-and-home series with the Railsplitters, winning 103-101 in overtime at home and falling 81-79 on the road. Jalin Alexander has led the Royals in the series averaging 26 points on 82.6-percent shooting from the floor. LMU leads the series, 11-2.
