Postgame Interview with Sarah Jansen
Highlights

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
Six players scored in double figures as the Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team notched a 98-71 non-conference victory over North Greenville University on Wednesday night.

Queens improved to 3-4 on the year after shooting a season-high 56.4 percent (31-of-55) from the field and 56.3 percent (9-of-16) from the three-point line. The 98-point performance is the highest point total for the Royals since reaching the same mark during the 2005-06 season in a win over St. Andrews University.

The Royals handed North Greenville its eighth straight loss to begin the season by holding the Crusaders to 39.7 percent from the field, forcing 18 turnovers and registering a 40-30 advantage in total rebounds. Queens turned 13 offensive rebounds into 21 second chance points and had 42 points in the paint.

A 14-for-28 shooting performance in the first half helped Queens to a 10-point lead at intermission. The Royals never trailed in the second half, leading by as large a margin as 29 points late in the fourth quarter after a three-pointer from junior Ceara Leavai.

Leavai had 19 points for the Royals, including a 5-for-8 performance from beyond the arc, in just 23 minutes of action. Junior Lade Adepoju also tallied 19 points to go along with seven rebounds, followed by 16 points from senior Mendy McNeese.

Freshman Caitlyn Moore had 12 points and four assists, while freshman Kristian Eanes also chipped in 12 points and four assists off of the bench.

Freshman Herning Wang collected 10 points and seven rebounds to complete the double-digit scorers for Queens. Freshman Lauren Fields finished with career-highs of eight points and five rebounds for the Royals, shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the charity stripe.

The Royals return to South Atlantic Conference play on Saturday, Dec. 9 when the team travels to Anderson, S.C. for a 2 p.m. matchup with the Trojans of Anderson University.
