CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The second-ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team (12-0, 5-0 South Atlantic Conference) travels to Texas on Dec. 30, to face Tarleton State University (7-4, 3-1 Lone Star Conference) in its final non-conference game of the season. Saturday's game marks the first all-time meeting between the two programs. Â

-The Royals have achieved a 12-0 start for the third consecutive year, most recently defeating crosstown rival Johnson C. Smith University 83-77 on Tuesday, Dec. 19, in the final game before the Holiday break.
-Queens is the only program in the nation, in all levels of NCAA competition, to have started each of the last three seasons 10-0 or better.
-Queens is one of nine remaining unbeaten teams in NCAA Division II.
-Queens is ranked No. 2 in the NABC/Division II National Rankings receiving one first-place vote and slotted only behind reigning national champion Northwest Missouri State University, who received 15 of a possible 16 first-place votes. The Royals are also ranked No. 3 nationally in the D2SIDA media poll, and are the top-ranked teams in the southeast region receiving four of a possible six votes for the top spot.
-The Royals have secured nine of their 12 wins by double figures, and have compiled six wins over teams with a winning record. Queens is beating opponents by an average of 16.6 points per game, which ranks 13
th nationally.
-Queens is led by
Todd Withers who is averaging a team-high 14.7 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game. Withers has scored in double figures in all six games in the month of December, averaging 16 points per game in that span.

-The Texans are coming in off of a win over Wayland Baptist College 76-71 on Tuesday, Dec. 19, in the final game before the Holiday break.
-Tarleton State has played nine of its 11 games at home, and sport a 6-3 record in its home gym, having played just one game outside of the state of Texas.
-Tarleton State's average home attendance is 988 spectators per game.
-The Texans have won 20 games or more in each of the last eight seasons, and are just two seasons removed from back-to-back Elite Eight appearances in 2015 and 2016. Tarleton State has made the Elite Eight four times in program history.
-The Texans are led by Corinthian Ramsey (19.1 PPG) and Josh Hawley (16.4 PPG, 9.4 RPG).
