GREENEVILLE, TENN. – Despite shooting a season-high 42.6 percent from the floor, the Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team suffered 66-57 loss at the hands of fellow South Atlantic Conference member Tusculum College on Saturday afternoon.
 
Queens (2-4, 0-2 SAC) hit 20-of-47 shots in the game and held Tusculum (7-1, 2-0 SAC) to a 34.8 percent shooting performance, but the Pioneers held a decisive 47-34 advantage in total rebounds and scoring 21 points off of 22 turnovers by the Royals.
 
The Royals played their best defense of the season in the opening quarter of play, holding Tusculum to just 11 percent shooting en route to a 17-7 edge. However, the Pioneers found their stroke in the second quarter and held a 25-23 lead at intermission.
 
Tusculum shot 50 percent from the field in the second half, leading to a nine-point victory on its home floor.
 
Junior 
Lade Adepoju led all players with a game-high 19 points, making 8-of-13 shots from the floor , and pulling down six rebounds. Freshman 
Herning Wang followed with 10 points and eight rebounds, while fellow freshman 
Kristian Eanes tallied 10 points of her own.
 
Queens returns to the Levine Center for its next contest on Wednesday, Dec. 6 against non-conference opponent North Greenville University at 6 p.m.
