HARTSVILLE, S.C. –  It was a tale of two halves for the Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team as the Royals led a halftime lead slip away in an 82-56 loss to Coker College on Monday night.
 
The Royals (3-7, 0-5 SAC) shot a torrid 62.5 percent from the floor in the opening half of play, while the defense held Coker to a 38.2 percent clip. In contrast, The Cobras (5-6, 2-3 SAC) made 18-of-35 shots (51.4%) in the final two quarters and held the Royals to a 16.7 percent shooting mark to seal the comeback victory.
 
Queens led by one-point after the first quarter of play and held on to a 34-32 lead at intermission. However, Coker opened the second half 11-3 run to claim a six-point advantage midway through the third quarter.
 
The deficit remained in single digits for much of the third period and into the fourth until a 17-5 run for Coker opened the lead to a 20-point margin as Queens was outscored 29-11 in the final quarter.
 
Freshman 
Kristian Eanes led the Royals with a career-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor and a 6-for-8 performance from the free throw line to go along with five rebounds.
 
Fellow freshman 
Herning Wang followed with 14 points, while senior 
Mendy McNeese chipped in 10 points and a team-high six rebounds. Freshman guard 
Caitlyn Moore made an impact on the defensive end of the floor with six steals.
 
The Royals have 12 days off before returning to the court on Dec. 30 to face regionally-ranked Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C.
