Postgame Interview with Sarah Jansen
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team suffered its fourth South Atlantic Conference loss of the season, 92-47, to No. 6 Carson-Newman University on Wednesday night inside the Levine Center.
The Royals (3-6, 0-4 SAC) shot 45.5 percent from the floor in the first half, but struggled in the second half, shooting just 36 percent as a unit. The Royals were forced to commit 23 turnovers in the game, as Carson-Newman (12-0, 5-0 SAC) turned those miscues into 35 points and shot 55.4 percent from the floor. The Eagles also made 10-of-18 attempts from three-point range.
Carson-Newman led by double digits after the opening quarter of play and held a 50-26 edge at intermission. Queens closed the gap in the third quarter of play, but a strong final period kept the Eagles in front until the end.

Mendy McNeese led the Royals with team-highs of 15 points and five rebounds. Freshman
Herning Wang followed with 10 points, and freshman
Caitlyn Moore and
Ceara Leavai tallied eight and six points, respectively.
Briana Smith led the Eagles with a game-high 23 points, as four Carson-Newman players scored in double figures.
The Royals continue SAC play next week when they travel to Hartsville, S.C. for a matchup with Coker College on Monday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m.
