SAC Women's Volleyball Championship Central
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - For the first time since joining the South Atlantic Conference in 2013, the No. 3 seed Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball team will be playing in the SAC Women's Volleyball Championship Final.

Hannah Long directed her team to a sweep of No. 6 seed Mars Hill University in the quarterfinals before the team dispatched of No. 2 seed Wingate University 3-0 in the semifinals.The Royals (22-7) hit a season-high .379 as a team and held the Bulldogs to a season-low .115 mark. Queens had just five attack errors in the match and needed just 95 swings to put down 41 kills in knocking off the Southeast Region's top-ranked team.
Queens' next opponent is No. 4 seed Carson-Newman University (17-13) which is seeking its third SAC Tournament title. The Eagles took down the No. 1 seed Anderson University (S.C.) Trojans in five sets on Friday night, hitting .529 in the fifth and final set to earn a spot in the finale.
So far this postseason, the Royals have been led offensively by freshman
Jordan Proszenyak who has averaged 4.33 kills per set and a .349 hitting percentage to go along with 3.17 digs per set. Senior
Alex Thompson has been practically flawless in two tournament games, hitting .563 with 3.50 kills per set, as has All-Conference performer
Taylor Henry who has 12 kills without committing an error.
First Team All-Conference setter
Sydney Kunz continues her stellar play in the setter position, registering 13.3 assists per set, 2.83 digs per set and three service aces, while All-Freshman honoree
Casey Tarvin has tallied 6.50 digs per set.
The Eagles are led by Marnie Streeter who ranks among the league's top offensive threats with 3.82 kills per set. Setter Anna Patton shows her strength with 38 service aces, while libero Morgan Ballard is among the SAC's best defensive players with 6.86 digs per set.
Saturday will mark the third meeting of the season between Queens and Carson-Newman and the second meeting in the last seven days. The two sides split both regular season meetings with the Eagles taking the most recent contest by a score of 3-0 on their home court.
The match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start time in Jefferson City, Tenn. and the live broadcast will go live 15 minutes prior to first serve.
