Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The seventh ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team (22-2, 16-2 SAC) was pretty close to unstoppable in their game against the visiting Mars Hill Lions (9-15, 5-13 SAC) as they won 122-93 in front of their largest crowd of the season for homecoming. The win ties head coach
Bart Lundy with Dale Layer for the most wins in school history with 168.

The Royals shot 59.2 percent from the field and were 15-of-33 from three point range. Queens turned 13 turnovers into 19 points and took advantage in the paint as they scored 58 of their points down low and added 24-second chance points.

Everyone got a chance to put their name in the stat sheet as 13 different Royals scored in the game, led by
Rob Lewis' 24 points. Lewis was dynamite from downtown as he hit 5-of-9 three pointers in the game. Both
Sean Morgan and
Marquis Rankin added 20 points with Rankin adding seven assists and five rebounds as well.
Jared Hendryx was the team's leading rebounder with eight points to go along with his two blocks and ten points.

To start the game, the Lions jumped out to a quick 10-4 lead as Patrick Monroe hit a three pointer with just over three minutes played. Queens responded with a 9-2 run that was capped by a steal by Hendryx and a layup by
Jacoby Davis with 13:39 left in the first half to make the score 13-12 in favor of the Royals. Mars Hill answered the Royals run with another run of their own, this time of the 8-0 variety, to take back the lead by the score of 20-13 with thirteen minutes to play until halftime. The Lions held their lead until the nine-minute mark when Lewis' free throws gave Queens back the lead, 25-24. The lead would change hands one more time in the first half, but the Royals went on a 24-5 run over the next five minutes that would increase the lead to 49-31 following a three pointer by
Kendall Jones with just three minutes to play until halftime. Hendryx's dunk with 10 seconds left gave the Royals a 59-38 lead at the half.

The Royals took control of the game in the second half, as they were 23-of-38 from the field (60.5 percent) and 10-of-20 from behind the arc in the half. Lewis stole the ball and gave it to a wide open Morgan who laid it in with 18:39 on the clock gave Queens a 20 point, 64-43 lead. At the 14:42 mark in the second half, Camps put home a crowd-pleasing dunk to increase the Royals lead to 25, 79-54. Queens' lead increased to 30 points, 92-62 after Lewis splashed a three pointer with 11:24 remaining in the game. The offense was clicking for Queens tonight as they hit the century mark following two free throws by Hendryx that made the score 101-69 with 8:34 remaining in the game. The Royals would continue to hold down the throttle for the remainder of the game as they finished with 122 points, which was only four points short of tying the school record for points in a game (126) that was set by another Coach Lundy squad during the 2000-01 season.

Mars Hill was led by Justin Yeargin, who scored a game-high 26 points and added five rebounds in the game. Not far behind was Patrick Monroe who added 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting to go along with four rebounds and three assists.

The Royals will look for their ninth win in a row on Wednesday, February 17th, as they hit the road to play against the Catawba Indians at 8:00 p.m.
