Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The seventh ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team (21-2, 15-2 SAC) knocked off the Wingate Bulldogs (16-7, 12-5 SAC) by the score of 91-75 on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in a game that was circled on the calendar after the Bulldogs upset the Royals earlier this season.

The Royals shot 54.2 percent from the field and were 8-of-16 from three-point range in the game. Queens out-rebounded the Bulldogs 43-32, scored 19 points off of turnovers, and scored 44 points in the paint.

Sean Morgan was nearly perfect in the game as he scored 24 points and was 8-of-8 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free throw line as well as adding in seven rebounds. Adding another double double this season was
Daniel Camps, who added 14 points and 13 rebounds in the game. Three other Royals scored double digit points as
Marquis Rankin,
Todd Withers, and
Rob Lewis added in at least 11 points.

Wingate jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead in the opening minutes of the game, but the Royals had other ideas as they immediately went on an 11-0 run that was capped by a Morgan layup to give Queens a 13-7 lead with 13:58 to go in the first half.
Todd Withers drained a three pointer with 9:24 left on the clock that would give the Royals a 27-16 lead. Wingate would answer the Royals double digit lead as they went on a 12-2 run that would cut the lead down to only one point, 29-28 with just under six minutes to play in the half. Queens had yet another run in them in the first half as they ended the half on a 12-3 run that was capped by
Kendall Jones who hit a three pointer from the middle of the three point line to give the Royals a 43-31 lead at the break.

Queens came out of halftime determined to increase their lead and as Lewis hit a jumper with 15:48 on the clock, the Royals lead had jumped all the way up to 19 points, 57-38 over Wingate. Wingate would not give up as they went on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to only 12 points, 57-45 following a layup by Lee McCall with 13:36 to play in the second half. Queens took one of their largest leads of the contest with ten minutes to play as Withers' layup gave them a 21-point, 69-48 lead. Wingate worked to cut the lead back down to 12 points, 80-68, as Zeriq Lolar hit a three pointer with 3:59 remaining in the game. That would be as close as the Bulldogs would get as the Royals would knock them off by a final score of 91-75.

Wingate was led by Mike Baez who scored 22 points on 7-of-16 shooting and added in five rebounds. With 13 points, Anthanee Doyle was the only other Bulldog to score in double digits.

The Royals will matchup against the Mars Hill Lions on Saturday, February 10th in the Levine Center at 4:00 p.m. on homecoming.
