BREVARD, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team, currently ranked eighth in the nation, moved to 9-0 on the year this evening with an 88-51 win over Brevard College on the road. Queens improves to 3-0 in South Atlantic Conference play with the win, while the Tornados fall to 1-8 on the year and 0-4 in league play.

Darryl White led Queens with 13 points after shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor, and
Josh Van Weezep followed with a season-high 12 points after knocking down four threes.
Daniel Carr added 11 points, a new career-high for the freshman, while
Mike Davis and
Todd Withers each scored 10 points. Davis, Withers, and
Jalin Alexander totaled five rebounds apiece to lead under the glass.

By halftime of tonight's game, the Royals had built a 38-12 lead over the Tornados. Following a 4-4 tie at 17:29, Queens went on a 9-0 run to start building their lead. An 11-0 run sparked by a three from
Mike Davis later helped the Royals increase their margin to 20, 29-9, with 4:15 to play. Brevard tried to answer, finding three points to break up the Royals' run, but Queens ended the half with nine unanswered points to take a 26-point lead into the locker room.

The Royals shot 60.7-percent from the floor in the second half see their largest lead of the night, 72-29, with 9:38 to play. A three-pointer from Withers would give the Royals the 43-point lead. During the half, they connected on 6-of-13 shots from behind the three-point arc to post a 46.2 three-point field goal percentage in the period.

Queens' bench totaled 45 points this evening. Additionally, the Royals were able to score 29 of their points off of Brevard's ball-handling mishaps. The Tornados totaled 30 turnovers with Queens tallying 19 steals.

Shelby Harris led the Tornados with 11 points, while Stevie Williams, ranked fifth in scoring in the league, was held to just nine points.

Queens will be on the road again this weekend as they travel to take on Carson-Newman College on Saturday, December 10 at 4 p.m. The Royals swept the Eagles last season in the home and home series during the regular season.
