HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte volleyball team took a three set victory over Coker College on Tuesday, November 01, 2016, going 25-10, 25-18, 25-16 for the win over the Cobras. Queens would move to 17-5 overall record and 14-3 in the South Atlantic Conference. Coker fell to 12-14 overall and 4-14 in conference.

Queens saw
Meredith Jones topped the night with 11 kills followed by
Rebecca Cochran with nine and
Taylor Henry with eight.
Sydney Kunz tallied 31 assists to lead the team while
Megan Mancini led the team in digs with 18.

Coker was led on the floor by Alexis Berles who tallied seven kills in the match. Christen Bragg secured 14 assists while Kara Overholt added 18 digs.

A fast start put the Royals up 8-2 in the first set as the team found two separate runs off of strong attacking plays. Queens continued to push the score out to 14-3 before Coker could connect two points in a row. The team would cap the game 25-10.

A more even start in set two had Queens holding just a two point lead at 8-6. As the set stayed close, Queens found a small run late in the game to move ahead by six points. The Cobras battled back, finding a three point run, 23-17, but the Royals took their second set of the match.

Both teams sat even at 7-7 as Queens fought to find their third set win. The Royals slowly put together two small runs pushing the final set to a 14-9 score. Holding control, Queens soon reached a 20-12 lead with the help of a kill from
Jessica Raines. A five point run closed out the match.

The Royals will be at home this Friday playing host to Carson-Newman for a 7 p.m., match.
