MARS HILL, N.C. – An early goal from Queens University of Charlotte's
Ryan Ejezie was not enough as the Royals fell 2-1 to Mars Hill University on the road. The loss brings the Royals' record to 5-6 on the year and 2-5 in South Atlantic Conference play. The Lions improve to 6-5 on the year and 3-4 in the league.

Ejezie's goal scored in the third minute of action gave the Royals the momentum from the start, but the Lions' Amine Medjett would find the back of the net in the 40
th to even the score at 1-1 heading into the break.

The Royals' one shot on goal in the second would came from
Isaac Walker in the 60
th, but it was turned away by Mars Hill goalkeeper Kristopher Wennin. The save kept the game knotted at 1-1 until Mars Hill's Stian Sanner scored on a header in the 77
th off of a corner kick.

Queens was outshot 11-8 this evening, putting four shots on goal to Mars Hill's three shots on frame.
Matt Current totaled one save in his first start of the season.

Queens will return to Dickson Field on Saturday, October 15 to host Newberry College at 7:30 p.m. The Royals defeated Newberry 1-0 last season.
