CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team was defeated by Catawba College at Dickson Field, on October 5, 2016. Queens would drop to 5-5 overall and 2-4 in the league as Catawba moves to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the South Atlantic Conference.

Early in the fifth minute midfielder Isaac Walker put Queens on the board with the first score of the match. The goal was Walker's first of the season. Additionally, Ryan Ejezie notched his first assist of the year on the play. Catawba was able to respond in the 29th with a goal from midfielder Thar Thwai which was assisted by Daniele Proch. The 1-1 score would hold into the break.

The Indians took over the lead for the first time with a goal in the 66th minute from defender Ian Orr. Jack Pettett earned the assist on the go ahead goal after crossing the ball to Orr inside the box. Battling to knot the game up once again, Queens saw its best opportunity come and go in the 88th when Ejezie put a shot on frame that was turned away by a Catawba defender in the net.
